Monthly Recap: January–February 2024 2024-2-29

~ 4 min

So! Hello everyone, and welcome to this first monthly recap! I want to write one post a month to recap everything I did during the month and showcase some games! And why January and February in the same post? Because I didn't have the time to write it before... Sorry!

Personnal #

On a personal plan, I finish the school part of my Master's Degree in Video Games at Angoulême (ENJMIN représente) and move all my stuff to Paris to start my internship.

It was a very tumultuous period, with a lot of school deadlines and processing all the paperwork to move out, so I'm happy now.

Games #

During the last 2 months, I was productive a bit! (I think?) I've worked on four games, and let's talk about them!

Suburbia Electronica #

Suburbia Cover

This was my final school project. 4 months to make a game with a big team (9 people), make some documentation, and do everything you do in a vertical slice. I've worked with a team of talented people, and I think we make a great game!

Suburbia Electronica is an adventure game about kindness, love, and all things that could make a robot's heart glow just a bit softer.
Suburbia Electronica is a solo, wholesome adventure of around 15 hours for PC and consoles. The game tells the story of a little robot looking for the definition of happiness in American suburbia.
Explore, meet the inhabitants of this quirky community and solve little quests. The information you gathered will help the robot construct her own mental representation of her world, through a special interface that we call the sociogram. As the robot gets to know her neighbors, she will learn to know herself and then maybe find her own definition of happiness.

You can find the game on Itch.io, and feel free to give us some feedback!

FunPV #

I've talked about this already, but I've worked on a FPV+Regular drone simulator during the last months of 2023. And on January 1, 2024 (at 2 a.m.), I've released the game on Itch.io ! It's made in Godot, for now paused because I don't have the time to continue working on it, but maybe some days!

The Lime Heritage #

The Lime Heritage Cover

Made in 3 days for a school workshop, The Lime Heritage is a game about the lime production in the city of Angoulême. Talk with an old lime fabricator and learn about how lime was made in the past!

(The game is in French, sorry!)

TBS: Three Bit Synthetizer #

TBS Cover

Made in 3 hours for the 256th Trijam, TBS is a game about making music with a 3-bit synthetizer. You have a 3-bit memory to store which sound effect you want to play, and you can only use some bitwise operations to change the memory. It's not so well made, but for a 3-hour project, I'm happy about the art direction!

Conclusion #

So thank you for reading this post! It was a productive 2 months, and I hope I will have the time to rest a bit in the next few months with my internship. I will try to continue working on some personal projects; you will have all the news here!

Take care of you, and see you soon!
